1938年Dainippon Glass Co., Ltd. a corrugated glass manufacturer, was established.
Production begins at a plant in Osaka.
1939年A plant in Yokohama was established.
1948年Asahi Glass Co. Ltd. invests in the company.
1955年Production of corrugated sheets of Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic (FRP) beings at the Yokohama plant.
1957年A plant in Nagoya is established through absorption of the reinforced plastics molding division of the FRP-producing Tokai Special Glass Co., Ltd.
1959年Space shortages at the Yokohama and Nagoya plants result in a shift of operations to a new single plant in Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture. Equipment is upgraded, and production capacity expanded for wide-ranging manufacture of FRP products.
1960年Sales begin under the product name ARMOLITE.
1964年Manufacture and sales commence of PLALLOYTM, a material made using our own unique continuous pultrusion technology.
The company supervises the production of yachts for the Finn Class sailing event at the Tokyo Olympics.
1968年Installation of a 860 ton hydraulic press.
1969年Installation of a 1500 ton press, making possible the manufacture and marketing of large-scale FRP hydraulic press products.
1970年Installation of large filament winding molding equipment for production of corrosion-resistant FRP.
1973年Development and installation of a continuous press molding equipment for production of FRP troughs for electrical systems.
1976年Manufacture of BMC precision molded product ROSITETM using technology from Rostone Co., USA.
1977年Continuous pultrusion equipment is upgraded for a greater range of PLALLOYTM and the manufacture of large-scale products.
1979年Computerized machines are introduced for accounting.
1984年Rolltech Co.,Ltd. was established to manufacture and market highly corrosion-resistant ridged rolls.
FRP Helipad wins the Industrial Technology Award at CON-EX ’84.
1987年Nefcom Co., Ltd. was established for sales of such products as the FRP grating (an alternative to steel grating).
1989年Installation of continuous production equipment for our steel-grating alternative, FRP Reinforcing Fiber Mesh for Concrete.
Our embankment-reinforcing FRP grating, NEFTEM, wins the Reinforced Plastic Association Award.
1992年Company name was changed to Asahi Glass Matex Co., Ltd.
1993年Our NEFTEM material passes the Ministry of Construction’s civil engineering evaluation assessment.
1994年Our sensor-integrated FRP Reinforcing Fiber Mesh for Concrete product wins the Industrial Technology Award at CON-EX ’94.
1995年Integrated office was built in factory to promote operational efficiency.
1996年Manufacture of optical fibers.
1999年All company sites attain ISO9001 certification.
2000年Nefcom Co., Ltd. was dissolved due to completion of its corporate objective.
Manufacture of an FRP pedestrian bridge to be installed in Okinawa.
The FRP pedestrian bridge wins the Reinforced Plastic Association Award at CON-EX 2000.
2001年Our open-space FRP Truss product wins the Best Paper Award at CON-EX 2001.
All company sites attain ISO14001 certification.
2002年Our industry paper, “Evaluation of the Flexural Properties of Pultruded Square Tubes”, wins the Best Paper Award at CON-EX 2002.
2003年Launch of AG1000, a heat resistant sheet used on bridges to house electric cables.
2005年Our open-space FRP panel product wins the Japan SAMPE Award for Technology.
Our industry paper,”Construction Plans and Analysis of Built-Up Bridge Girders”, wins the Best Paper Award.
HIKARIKABE, jointly developed with Asahi Glass Co., Ltd., a load-bearing wall for wood frame houses, is approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transportation, the first such endorsement of any plastic material.
2006年Our earthquake-resistant wall that uses GFRP earthquake-resistant blocks wins the Japan SAMPE Award for Technology.
Our BMC product ROSITETM 290 passes an incombustibility test for railway rolling stock materials.
2007年Our company name was changed to AGC Matex Co., Ltd. from June 1, as part of Asahi Glass Group’s global brand unification strategy.
Development of an enhanced-security FRP airport fence in response to the Civil Aviation Bureau’s toughening of safety rules. The first products are installed domestically at the Hakodate and Sendai Airports.
Installation in Hokkaido of the Shiraoi district’s first polycarbonate folded-plate translucent fencing, jointly developed with the Hokkaido Civil Engineering Research Institute for Cold Regions.
2008年Installation of a large quantity of HIKARI PASARTM louvers on the Kumanomae Station building of the Nippori-Toneri Liner train line.
FRP grating is used as metal protection eaves in the Urban Renaissance Agency East Japan’s Toyosu Danchi in Koto-city, Tokyo.
2009年Energy-saving HIKARI PASAR louvers are used on the roof of a conference center in the Otemachi Redevelopment Zone, which includes the Keidanren Building.
The world’s first big-wave style barriers are used at Oita Airport.
Milky-white GS3030 coloring is used widely in illuminated screens at Zounohana (Elephant Trunk) Park, a monument commemorating the 150th anniversary of the opening of Yokohama Port.
FRP composite floor slabs are used in revamping the Kanmon Tunnel (undersea distance of 780 m; 3,000 m2 area), which also comprises the ceiling of the walkway section.
2010年Launch and marketing of LUMITERIOR, our new transparent FRP-molded flat-plate product.
2011年Establishment of our Thai subsidiary, AGC Matex (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. as our base of sales and production in the burgeoning Southeast Asia market.
2013年AGC Matex (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. extended the second plant.
2014年The FRP frame for photovoltaic array receives a Good Design Award.
2021年Became a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Molymer Co.,Ltd.
